Firewood #18
Firewood #18
Watercolor on paper, 24 × 18 in., 2026
In January 2026, the artist moved to Topanga. The nature there led to unexpected encounters, including two ravens that frequented the land where he was living, or maybe it was the other way around.
The male, Magnon, became part of his daily routine. He would greet him with small scraps of food, and Magnon would respond with clicks, clucks, puffed feathers, and strange, deliberate movements. He followed him on hikes. At times, he would perch nearby and watch. Being observed in that way brought a heightened awareness of presence, of the land, and of being part of it rather than separate from it.
They now live inside the work, carried into it as part of the same force that feeds the fire.
The piece is signed by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
This is an original, one-of-a-kind work. Sold unframed.
